The SDA Award of Excellence was given to Saberah Malik for her piece “Teetotaler’s Recollections.”

Our exhibition also coincided with the month-long “Community Threads” celebration of fiber during March 2014 throughout New Bedford.  “Community Threads” organizers have also planned a number of events, including a community yarn bombing project. Headed up by students of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Fiber Department, everyone in the community was invited to contribute knitting and crochet work to help create yarn bombing installations during March in the historic downtown.
